Two Must-Have Mechanicals
Craig Caulkins comes to you with the professional experience of designing and building homes for the past 30-years. This extensive experience allows Craig to come to the table with a repertoire of knowledge that will make your custom new home perfect for your lifestyle while maintaining its value for years to come.
When we meet to review your design, we discuss needs and wants. What you can’t live without, and what you’d like to see in the design and estimate.
So what can’t we live without? What are our must-haves?
HOT WATER
What happens when you and your family take back to back showers? You run out of hot water. This is a real bummer on those chilly New England mornings when you really want a hot shower to get your day started right!
Your hot water runs out because the hot water tank limits the amount of hot water you can run during a certain period of time. And, to add insult to injury, your tank is running throughout the day, maintaining the hot water temperature while no one is even home! (Eversource thanks you!)
We have a solution for this and it’s life-changing, particularly for large families. Our first must-have is a tankless water heater.
Tankless water heaters eliminate the worry of running out of hot water, and, they only operate when hot water is needed, saving you money on energy and utility costs!
It’s also much smaller than a traditional hot water tank. This suitcase-sized wall units fit in tight, discrete spaces, freeing up more usable living area in your home.
And, have you ever had a hot water tank burst? With a tankless water heater, there is no more storing large quantities of water that could potentially leak all over your floor! BONUS!
As if that weren’t enough, tankless water heaters use up to 40% less energy than a traditional hot water heater. And, with their premium technology, increased energy efficiency, and improved Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index Score and optimized LEED eligibility, our tankless solutions can increase your home’s value.
Our second must-have is pretty relatable too.
POWER
Were you in Connecticut for Tropical Storm Isaia? If so, you were probably without power for a week or two. These power outages typically happen during hurricane season, and when winter flexes it’s unpredictable muscle on us.
This brings us to talk about power by installing a whole house generator. Also known as a standby generator, this device connects with the electrical system of your house with an automatic transfer switch and within the blink of an eye, supplies electricity to the whole house. When the power is restored, the generator gets disconnected from the electrical system and connects to the grid supply automatically.
Features like this make the generator a precious asset for the house that needs an uninterrupted power supply for medical issues, working and learning from home, or simply for safety and comfort.
Do you have a smart home? Both our tankless water heater and whole house generator system come with a smart home upgrade option!
These must-haves really improve the quality of life for you and your family.
